At last, the long-awaited completion of the Palmer, Sherrard, and Ware translation of the Philokalia, Volume Five, has arrived. Metropolitan Kallistos Ware, the last surviving member of the original team of translators, aided by Fr. Melvin Laird, Prof. Garth Fowden, and Fr. Andrew Louth, completed the Introduction and translation before Ware's death in August, 2022. Published by Faber, the Publisher of Volumes 1-4 between 1979 and 1995. The cover design is identical to that of the other four volumes, with the striking exception of one aspect: the jacket: unlike the familiar blue-gray of the other volumes is a bright goldenrod color. The writers included in Volume Five are St. Kallistos and St Ignatios Xanthopoulos, Blessed Patriarch Kallistos the Patriarch, Kallistos Angelikoudis, St. Symeon of Thessaloniki, and St. Mark of Ephesos.
